General Introduction of Tianjin

Tianjin is a municipality directly under the Central Government. It is the national central city, located on the North China plain at the confluence of five tributaries of Haihe River which is also the mother river of Tianjin City.
As the biggest coastal opening city in North China, Tianjin was positioned as International Port City, Economic Center in North China and Eco-City by the State Council Executive meeting in 2006.

Located in the middle latitudes in North Temperate Zone and the east coastal area of Asian and European Continental Plate, Tianjin has a temperate monsoon climate with distinctive seasons. The windy spring is arid and dry, summer hot and wetter, autumn cool and comfortable while winter cold and less snowy, so that the best season to travel in Tianjin is at the end of spring, the start of summer and the whole autumn. The annual average temperature is 11.6℃－13.9℃. The hottest July has an average temperature of 27.8℃ and the coldest January has an average temperature of -4.3℃.
