General Introduction of Qingdao

Qingdao is located at the yellow sea shore in the Southern part of Shandong Peninsula. In 1994, it was listed as one of the 15 sub-provincial cities.

Qingdao is the first city to establish the complete weather records in China. Wusi Square
Wusi Square, also called May Fourth Square, has Qingdao Municipal Government to the north and Fushan Bay to the south which is the only breakout of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to hold the sailing competition. Wusi Square covers an area of 10 hectares. Wusi Square got its name from the historical event that Qingdao was the fuse of the May 4th Movement. Body sculpture of the square is called Wind in May, which is 30 meters high and 27 meters in diameter. The spiral-up wind modeling embodies the patriotic tone of the May 4th Movement and the free rising national strength. Being divided into South and North part, Wusi Square has the Municipal Government Office Building, implicit fountain, lattice fountain, sculpture of Wind in May and hundred meters of fountain on the sea in the central axis.
